GUBI OUTDOOR SLATS combines laminated bamboo slats with a metal substructure to create technical ceilings for outdoor spaces. The system also allows slat sections, heights and spacing to be configured according to the requirements of each project. This enables architects and contractors to adapt the ceiling layout to the building’s geometry.
Independent Slat System
GUBI OUTDOOR SLATS uses individual slats instead of closed modules. The system therefore offers greater freedom to define alignments, spacing and changes in plane. The slats can also reach lengths of up to 11.80 metres, reducing the number of visible joints. This continuity enhances the ceiling’s visual coherence and simplifies the design of large surfaces.
Laminated bamboo for exterior use
The system uses laminated bamboo with high dimensional stability and durability class 1–2. In addition, D4 adhesives provide resistance to moisture and contact with water. The material maintains a moisture content of 14%, with a tolerance of ±2 percentage points. A pigmented saturating finish protects the surface and defines the final colour, while epoxy resin seals the end grain against direct moisture ingress.

Individually adjustable slat installation
The substructure incorporates metal rails that support each slat independently. Each piece features concealed machining to accommodate the GUBI sliding anchors. These anchors can be repositioned during installation, facilitating accurate slat alignment. This allows the installer to level each piece before completing the fixing. The system also enables individual slats to be removed or replaced without dismantling the rest of the ceiling. The rails can be either suspended using threaded rods or fixed directly to a levelled structure.
Dimensions and technical specifications
Manufactured from laminated bamboo suitable for outdoor applications, this product is available in lengths of up to 11,800 mm, with a tolerance of ±1.0 mm. It is offered in heights ranging from 100 to 200 mm and in thicknesses of 40 or 50 mm, both with a tolerance of ±0.1 mm. The standard profile is GOS 50-125, with a cross-section of 50 × 125 mm and an approximate weight of 4.50 kg per linear metre. To enhance its resistance and durability, it features a pigmented penetrating finish and epoxy resin protection on the end grain. It is also available with FSC certification upon request.
Fire Performance
The system is compatible with pressure-applied fire-retardant treatments, depending on the project requirements. These treatments can achieve classifications D-s3,d0, C-s3,d0 or B-s3,d0. However, the technical team must confirm the applicable classification for each section, configuration and installation condition. The project documentation must therefore specify the prescribed treatment and final fire classification.

GUBI OUTDOOR SLATS is designed for sheltered outdoor spaces and transitional areas. The system also accommodates different slat orientations, spacing and heights. Typical applications include:

Adaptable to every project
The technical team can modify the slat cross-section, height, thickness and spacing. We can also assess alternative wood species when required by the project. However, each modification is subject to prior technical review, taking into account exposure conditions, dimensions, finish, supporting structure and reaction to fire.
